Born Legal Turns ONE! And We're Celebrating with the Launch of Our New Client Portal
One year down, and we're just getting started!
On 1 November 2026, Born Legal officially celebrates its first birthday!
It's been an incredible first year, and we're enormously grateful to the clients, colleagues and partners who have supported us along the way.
From day one, our goal has been simple: to make advertising, marketing and commercial legal compliance easier, more accessible and more efficient for the businesses we work with.
And what better way to celebrate our first birthday than by delivering something we've been working towards for quite some time.
We're excited to announce that the brand-new Born Legal Client Portal officially launches on Monday, 2 November 2026!
Introducing the Born Legal Client Portal
Built on more than a decade of experience working in the trade promotions and advertising compliance space, our new Client Portal has been designed with one thing in mind: making life easier for our clients.
We know that managing multiple promotions, tracking permit applications, keeping tabs on legal spend and coordinating jobs across different teams can be a challenge.
We've listened to the common frustrations, identified the opportunities to do things better and developed a centralised platform that gives our clients greater visibility, transparency and control over their legal matters.
Whether you're running a national trade promotion, seeking an advertising compliance review or briefing us on a general commercial matter, the Born Legal Client Portal is designed to be your one-stop shop.
Here's a look at what you can expect.
1. All Your Jobs. One Convenient Location.
No more digging through email chains to find out where things are up to!
The Jobs Page provides a centralised view of all your organisation's current and completed matters, including trade promotions, advertising reviews and general legal jobs.
You can easily search and filter jobs by name, job type, submitter or status, making it simple to find exactly what you're looking for.
And for trade promotions requiring permits, we've taken things a step further.
Live permit tracking allows you to follow the progress of permit and amendment applications, with individual permit/amendment approval details appearing as they're issued.
It's greater visibility over the entire process.
2. Briefing Us Has Never Been Easier
We've streamlined the process of submitting new jobs with a range of intuitive, easy-to-use briefing forms.
Whether you need assistance with a game of chance, game of skill, promotional offer, advertising material review or general commercial matter, there's a dedicated form to get you started.
And because we know you don't always have every detail at your fingertips, you can save your progress and return to complete your briefing later.
Less back-and-forth. Less administration. More time to focus on getting your campaign off the ground.
3. Clear, Upfront Pricing
We believe legal costs should be transparent and predictable.
That's why the portal includes a dedicated Legal Fees page, providing your organisation with clear, upfront fixed pricing for our services.
There's also a separate Permit Fees page outlining the government fees associated with chance-based trade promotions across Australia.
The result? Easier budgeting, better campaign cost planning and fewer surprises.
4. Your Questions, Answered
Ever wondered whether your promotion requires a permit? What the difference is between a game of chance and a game of skill? Or whether a particular prize can legally be awarded?
Our FAQs page brings together a wealth of practical information covering trade promotions, promotional activities, permit requirements and common compliance questions.
You'll also find guidance on using the portal itself.
We'll continue adding to and updating this resource, making it a handy reference point for those everyday questions that come up when planning and running campaigns.
5. Greater Visibility Over Trust Funds
Ever wondered whether your promotion requires a permit? What the difference is between a game of chance and a game of skill? Or whether a particular prize can legally be awarded?
For clients who choose to hold funds on trust with Born Legal, the portal provides a dedicated Trust Account page.
This includes a detailed breakdown of funds drawn down against individual jobs, relevant transaction details and your organisation's remaining trust balance.
It's another way we're making it easier to keep track of your legal spend and manage budgets with confidence.
One Year In. Plenty More to Come.
Launching Born Legal was about creating a legal service that understands the realities of the advertising and marketing industries — where deadlines are tight, campaigns move quickly and practical, commercially focused advice matters.
Our new client portal is an extension of that philosophy.
It's not about adding another system for clients to manage. It's about bringing everything together, removing unnecessary administration and giving our clients the information they need, when they need it.
And while we're incredibly excited about what we've built, we're even more excited about what's to come.
We'll continue listening to our clients, refining the platform and looking for new ways to make working with Born Legal even easier.
